:Golf Marketing : Emirates renews sponsorship of BMW Asian Open, China
Emirates Airline agreed a sponsorship deal to become the Official Airline of the BMW Asian Open 2008 golf tournament - the fifth year in succession that the company has been a sponsorship partner of the event.
This year’s Asian open, which has a prize purse of $2.3 million, will be held at the Tomson Shanghai Pudong Golf Club from April 24th to 27, and will be the first ever tri-sanctioned – Chinese Golf Association, Asian Tour, and European Tour – event in China.
The airline’s name will be on a number of sponsorship initiatives at the sport event, including the Emirates Spectator Charity Hole-in-One Challenge, the proceeds from which are being donated to charity; the Pro-Am Charity Closest to the Pin Challenge, during which donations to charity by amateur golfers automatically qualify them to win Emirates flight tickets; and two private golf clinics for Emirates’ key customers and partners as well as international school children.
